Welcome to Square One
Clint and Sharold’s story began in North Missouri in the early 90’s, where they grew up as high school sweethearts. Life eventually led them down separate paths after graduation, with Sharold spending 27 years in Mississippi. In 2019, fate stepped in when Clint found her again, and before long, Sharold returned home to Missouri. Together, they chose to begin again — building their lives and their relationship from Square One.
Both coming from farm families, cattle were always part of their roots. When it came time to start their own operation, Clint and Sharold wanted something different — something special. What began as conversations, research, and dreaming led to a small purchase of what they lovingly call pasture art. That single decision changed everything and sparked a deep love for the Texas Longhorn breed.
Today, Square One Longhorns is built on a passion for raising a colorful, well-rounded herd focused on soundness, strength, solid conformation, gentle dispositions, and competitive horn growth. Every animal is selected strategically with great care.
That passion naturally expanded beyond their own pasture, as Sharold went on to start Square1 Media, a livestock photography business specializing in website and catalog photography for fellow breeders. Through Square1 Media, she has had the opportunity to work closely with others in the industry, helping showcase cattle in a way that tells their story and highlights their quality — a perspective that continues to influence the way Square One Longhorns is built today.
More than anything, Square One is about dreams, second chances, and building something meaningful together. Clint and Sharold are proud to welcome you into their farm family and invite you to share the joy they find every day with their herd at Square One Longhorns.
